Michael P. Dickey is the managing partner of the firm’s Panama City office. Mike has represented civil litigants in a wide variety of disputes, ranging from trust and estate disputes to complex commercial and construction litigation. He also maintains an active mediation and arbitration practice, and has been a certified Circuit Court Mediator for nearly twenty years.
Mike graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1997. While at Georgia, he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Georgia Law Review, and inducted as a member of the Order of Coif. From 2008-2010, Mike was an assistant professor of law at the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina, where he taught commercial law and alternative dispute resolution. His scholarship has appeared in the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution, the official journal of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. Mike also received an AV peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell, signifying the highest level of professional excellence, and has been named as one of Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite in the field of litigation, most recently in 2021.
Mike is admitted to practice in Florida and New York. Over the years, he has been very active with the Florida Bar, having served on the Board of Governors until 2019 when he briefly moved away from the circuit after Hurricane Michael. He has also served as chair of the Bar’s Code and Rule of Evidence Committee, on the Bar’s Circuit Civil Rules Committee, and on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. He recently served as President of the St. Andrews Bay Inn of Court, and has chaired the 14 th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. Mike is also an active member and past president of the Panama City Kiwanis Club, and a past president of the Panama City Symphony.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Mike served as an F-15 pilot in the United States Air Force from 1986-1994. During that time, he helped lead 31 combat missions during the Persian Gulf War. When he is not mediating or trying cases, Mike is an avid pilot, runner, and sometimes farmer at Wyldswood, the family farm he owns with his wife Peggy.
